As a new parent, I can relate to all the concerns we have for our children and want only what is best for them.  We all strive to be a nurturing parent and some of us choose to put our life on hold while we raise and care for our children.  I have mixed emotions about that since I believe a child can learn a lot by watching a parent take on challenges.  Children will strive for things and challenge themselves more if they witness their parent do just that.  A parent can also teach their children more if they are experiencing new and challenging technology and information.  I believe there is a balance between family and work.  This semester has proven that to me in so many ways.  You can read about it in my Reflection letter regarding the semester.  Also, you can read my writing assignment, Virginia Vaccinations regarding the new vaccinations Virginia is requiring for all girls before entering middleschool.  This paper incorporates my work/class obligations with my care and concerns as a parent.  It has been my pleasure to be involved in this class and I look forward to years of raising my family and growing as a person in society.  Thank you.
